About Me

Greetings!

My name is Melissa or Mel for short. I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and because of that I have great experience in interacting and communicating with people of many different cultures and walks of life. I also have great experience in sampling many of the different local kine dishes of Hawaii.

I attended and graduated with an Associate of Science degree in Communication Arts/Graphic Design from Honolulu Community College, an integral part of the University of Hawaii, a world-renowned, nationally-ranked, and state-funded American institution. While attending HCC I was awarded an Award of Excellence at the 2008 Pele Awards, which honors Hawaii's best in advertising and design for the calendar year.

I have more than six years of experience working with several non-profit and for-profit organizations while adhering to their strict style guides and maintaining their corporate identities. I have worn many hats in my roles and consider myself to be a Swiss Army Knife in that I have several tools and talents that can help with any job. In addition, I am also a fast and eager learner with a strong work ethic. I love working on individual projects or collaborating with team members to achieve goals.

When I'm not busy creating for clients, I enjoy playing video games and attending comic conventions in costume with my husband, being the best bird mom I can be to my four bird kids (3 lovebirds and 1 cockatiel), and enjoying movies (Like Young Frankenstein) and TV show marathons (Like Star Wars: The Clone Wars).
